Hi @xWindows11x,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like there could be a couple of reasons why your HP ENVY Laptop 13 is not going to sleep when you close the lid, especially after having the screen and hinges replaced. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue.

Check Power Settings:

  • Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options.
  • Click on Choose what closing the lid does on the left sidebar.
  • Ensure that for both On battery and Plugged in, the option for "When I close the lid" is set to Sleep.

Update Drivers:

  • Sometimes, driver updates are necessary after hardware changes. Go to the HP support website for your laptop model and download the latest drivers for your display and power management.

Adjust Power Settings in BIOS:

  • Restart your laptop and enter the BIOS (usually by pressing F10, F12, or Esc during startup).
  • Look for power management settings and ensure they are correctly configured for sleep mode when the lid is closed.

Check for Physical Issues:

  • Since you mentioned that the camera may have moved after the repair, ensure that there are no obstructions or misalignments near the lid sensor.
  • Inspect the area around the hinges and the lid to see if anything is obstructing the proper closure that triggers the sleep mode.

Reset Power Management Settings:

  • Open an elevated Command Prompt (search for CMD, right-click, and choose Run as administrator).
  • Type powercfg -restoredefaultschemes and press Enter to reset the power settings to default.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Make sure your operating system is up to date. Sometimes, updates include fixes for power management issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
