EliteBook 745 G4
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I purchased a USB Type-C Hub with an HDMI port so I could hook up an additional monitor to my laptop (HP EliteBook 745 G4).  I have tried two different monitors connected to the HDMI port on the Hub, yet neither will work.  The monitors do not recognize the connection, and EliteBook display settings do not show the monitor.  I suppose the hub could be bad, although it is new.  Is it possible this notebook does not support HDMI through the USB Type-C port?  If it should, does anyone have any idea what I can do to get this working?

Its specs

It is not clear about USB-C port but it has a true Docking connector. and the following dock is compatible

You already have USB Type-C Hub with an HDMI , why not try ?

Machine also has one DisplayPort (DP) and simple direct DP to HDMI cable is another option.

Banhien, thank you for responding.  Yes, it has a docking port, but I do not have a docking station.  And yes, it has a display port, that I am using for a second monitor.  My goal was to connect a third monitor through a Type-C hub that I purchased.  It has an HDMI port on it, but is not working.  I have tried two monitors, and neither work, but both work through the display port.  What I am asking is it possible the Type-C port does not support HDMI, or do I purchase a different Type-C hub to try?
