Will this USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 1 on my envy 360 support video

purchased an HP Spectre USB-C Travel dock and plugged it into my  USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 1 on my HP ENVY x360 - 15-aq273cl computer and nothing. it will not recognize the external monitor. Monitor works plugged into the HDMI port but nothing out of 3.1C port

am I tilting at windmills. I dont think the envy can support 2 external monitors. Please respond so I can toss this computer and send the docking station back to Amazon

This docking station was recommended by HP,

a horrible experience owning this computer, it goes to sleep and wont wake up either but that couldn't be fixed.

• 2 USB 3.0 (1 HP USB Boost);
• 1 HDMI;
• 1 headphone/microphone combo

Its USB-C ports does NOT support video out.(Note: it is NOT USB 3.1 as shown on its specs).
