Hi @Abor ,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Stream 11 Pro touchpad is not working on Microsoft Windows 10, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot and fix the issue:
Check if the Touchpad is Enabled:
- Sometimes, the touchpad may be accidentally disabled. To enable it, press the "Fn" key (Function key) along with the key that has a touchpad icon. This key is often one of the F keys at the top of your keyboard.
Restart Your Laptop:
- A simple restart can sometimes resolve hardware-related issues. Restart your laptop and check if the touchpad starts working.
Update Touchpad Drivers:
- Outdated or incompatible drivers can cause touchpad issues. To update the touchpad drivers:
- Right-click on the Start button and select "Device Manager."
- Locate and expand the "Mice and other pointing devices" section.
- Right-click on the touchpad device and select "Update driver."
- Follow the on-screen instructions to search for and install the latest driver.
Roll Back Touchpad Drivers:
- If updating the drivers doesn't work or if you recently updated them, try rolling back to the previous version:
- Open Device Manager as mentioned above.
- Right-click on the touchpad device and select "Properties."
- Go to the "Driver" tab and click on "Roll Back Driver" if the option is available.
Check Touchpad Settings:
- Make sure that the touchpad is enabled in the settings:
- Open "Settings" by pressing the Windows key + I.
- Go to "Devices" and select "Touchpad."
- Ensure that the touchpad is set to "On" or "Enabled."
Reinstall Touchpad Drivers:
- If updating or rolling back the drivers doesn't work, try uninstalling and then reinstalling them:
- Open Device Manager.
- Right-click on the touchpad device and select "Uninstall device."
- Restart your laptop, and Windows should automatically reinstall the touchpad drivers.
Check for Windows Updates:
- Ensure that your Windows 10 operating system is up-to-date. Go to "Settings" > "Update & Security" > "Windows Update" and check for updates.
Run Windows Troubleshooter:
- Open "Settings" and go to "Update & Security" > "Troubleshoot."
- Run the troubleshooter for hardware and devices.
Perform a System Restore:
- If the issue started recently, you can perform a system restore to revert your system to a previous state when the touchpad was working.
- Type "Create a restore point" in the Windows search bar and select the corresponding result.
- In the System Properties window, go to the "System Protection" tab and click on the "System Restore" button.
If none of these solutions work, there may be a hardware issue with the touchpad
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
