HP Envy PC + Logitech Wireless Mouse
Microsoft Windows 11

I have an HP Envy Laptop PC and a Logitech wireless mouse. When I leave the mouse dongle plugged in with the PC turned off the PC internal battery is drained. Anyone know of a BIOS switch or other setting I can configure to prevent this?

First of all, unless you went into Control Panel and changed some settings, your laptop is not powered down when you turn it off.  All modern laptops are configured to go into a hybrid sleep mode when you power them off.  So, it is still working, and still receiving signals from the mouse.

If you want it powered off, go into Control Panel (not Settings) and change the setting for what happens when you power off the laptop.

Thanks for this. I am aware I can tweak the power/sleep  settings in control panel. No, the issue is when the PC and mouse are turned of but the dongle left in, After about a week the PC internal battery is completely flat. I found the answer in another post. It is due to using the right hand USB port which has power to it permanently. Apparently the left hand one only has power to it when the PC is on, so if I use this one instead  it should solve the problem.
