Yellowish tint in my New Laptop Screen

Hi Support Team,

My Laptop screen is yellowish in color, It is not pure white. Issue persists all the time.

It is very much annoying and strain for eyes. It is a brand new laptop, I've purchased 3 days before, and problem appeared as soon as I opened the laptop. please help here. Hoping to receive timely response.

If you're on Win 10 Creator Update, check your Night light settings​.

Apologies for jumping in unannounced.

Windows Creator is the "next best thing" from Microsoft -- this latest Update just started rolling out a few days ago for the public.

Along with batch of new features comes the "Night Light" feature that is intended to reduce eye fatigue when working at night (in a dark environment).  Night Light adds a "yellow" hue to the screen. 

Adjust the Night Light Setup:

Settings > System > Display > Night Light Settings

There are many articles and documents on the Internet about Windows 10 Creators Update.

Thanks for your response sir... I think I didn't install this on my laptop, there must be some different reason for yellowish tint on my screen, please help

I regret I cannot assist.

I do not know what is causing the yellow tint.

If I have anything I believe will be useful, I will post back.

For those reading, screen Calibration is available to help with color, exposure, and brightness issues.  "Clear Text" adjustment may help with text viewing issues.

Hint

If your computer's screen color is compromised (known to be incorrect), view the examples in  How to Calibrate a Monitor in Windows 10 on a different system / monitor to get an idea of of the desired results.

Calibrate the color, contrast, brightness, gamma.

Continue with the "clear text" section.

Windows key  > Settings   > type in the search bar calibrate

Additional places to check / adjust include the "Themes" setting:

If you are using a "high contrast" theme, switch off "High Contrast" and set a different theme.

Windows key  > Settings   > Personalization > Colors >

High Contrast Settings >  None

Try using a "Light" default app mode (instead of a "Dark" mode).

Windows key  > Settings   > Personalization > Colors >

Select "Light" app mode

CHECK show accent color on the following surfaces > Title Bars

Since your laptop was purchased recently, I would recommend returning  to the merchant for a solution. I cannot think of any reason why you have a persistent yellowish tint out of the box.

I had a similar issue only just today, I factually unfortunately had to get a new laptop so found one finally that would have a disk drive I've desired for years.

I obtained a new HP 17.3 inch with 1TB of hard drive and 4GB of ram, neither of which were that important though the terabyte of storage is useful indeed.

Anyhow, I keep getting a yellow tint on my screen and this has been happening since I stated the laptop and made it to the factual desktop.

It's been slightly irking me for a few hours as nothing seems to alter it and yet then I discovered something.

There is a program on this system which seems to be directly responsible for altering it to a yellow tint, regardless of what I try.

Yet if I alter the settings myself the tint seems to vanish if only slightly. The program is cLled Radeon and I've never seen it before.

I only got the laptop out of necessity and because it has ample space and a disk drive and the fact that already something seems amiss doesn't bode well.

But if you need to check, there should be a red icon in your hidden icons at the bottom right of your screen called Radeon.

My system was pre installed and brand new today as I stated, and I'm on Windows 10 Home, not Creator and had this issue despite it being the apparently newest update to the system.

And to note I have no Night Light option so this so far is the only thing that has even briefly worked even if it's for a moment.

Apologies for not being of more use.

I hope such facts however might help any progress to finally finding a solution and be more of use to you than myself.

If you ever find out how to fix it please let me know I'd appreciate the information.

Thanks a lot for your response, I appreciate that, but I have nVidia graphic card equipped.

A work around I have done here is calibrated the RGB color settings in Windows 10, and it worked like a charm, the option is available as when you type Gramma, the option appears in the top "calibrate the display".

Clicking on that opens a dialog box which is actually setup to calibrate brightness, contrast, gamma and RGB settings, I have changed settings in RGB and it's gone.

Unfortunately doing that never helped my factual self at all. All it did was keep the screen the same even if the brightness was increased or gamma.

I attempted to dial down the green and alternate the colours to get it correct yet the yellow tinge still remains.

Oddly enough if I turn something off on Radeon, the screen colour and such seems to be a natural yellow factual things anyhow regardless of the photograph used.

Ironic. I obtain a new laptop and it's already more advanced than I can understand.
