Microsoft Windows 11

Maybe this is type of how-to, but also it might be an error.

My standard configuration is to connect two USB-type C Thunderbolt 4 notebooks (Windows 11) on USB-type C(1) and USB-type C(2) with the USB-type C Thunderbolt 4 cables which where supplied with the monitor. So far so good. PbB does work like a charm, with going to sleep and waking up exactly in sync with the two notebooks.

But when attaching my set-top-box via HDMI this seems to not working anymore. HDMI is alway taking precedence. I haven't found a way to manual choose HDMI or USB-C(1) or USB-C(2) in PbP mode. No chance. As long as a HDMI device is connected, I cannot switch anymore between input sources. It wouldn't matter, if the going to sleep and waking up would work as without HDMI. But no, once a USB-type C connection goes to sleep, it wont come back upon wakeup. The monitor stays black. I have to disconnect the HDMI device, powercycle the monitor and reboot the notebooks to come back to a working PbP mode. What am I doing or understanding wrong?

My aim is to have three connected devices at a time, two USB-type C and one HDMI and to switch to HDMI on occasion while USB-type C is standard.
Thank you for any insights.
