Troubleshooting black screen issues on HP Notebooks: Click here to view the instructions!
HP Recommended

I just ran into this problem (December 28th, 2019) as I was upgrading a Zbook 15 from Windows 7 to Window 10.

When I first encountered the problem, I tried various things such as updating the laptop BIOS and display driver, but I guess I got lucky and re-booted while not docked so I thought I fixed the problem.   Ran into the issue again during a re-boot and pulled my hair out trying various fixes, but would always get the Code 43 error on the Intel 4600 adapter driver.   Finally, tried testing the monitor connected to VGA without the dock and realized it was a docking problem.

Then I found the excellent two and a half year write up by CrashSimmons.  I have the latest Adapter driver and BIOS updates to the laptop and the problem still exists.

So my question, is there a software fix for the docking station?  I have the A7E32 90W docking station.   Or I am doomed to always have to reboot off dock?

Thanks.
