Thunderbolt Dock G2
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Experiencing issues getting video connections to show on our newly purchased Thunderbolt G2 230W Docks. We're currently using the HP ZBook 17 G4s running Windows 10(1803) - Connecting to the HP Thunderbolt Dock G2 230W. Unable to get video to work through VGA for Display Ports via VGA Direct or DVI to DP Adapter. Have updated all BIOS, Video Drivers, Firmware, etc. Have even attempted force loading the Firmware update HP has for the ZBook 15s for these docks - Still no luck. Doesn't matter what monitors I try, Dell, Acer, ASUS, etc. Haven't tried DP to DP direct as we mostly use DVI and VGA based monitors. That being said, When connected to the dock, all other features work; LAN, USB-A/C and audio port. But no luck with video outputs. Anyone else seeing this issue?

After some deep digging I was able to locate an HP Manual with the preferred drivers and firmware softpaqs for each of their machines when using with this dock. After sifting through this guy I found that the below recommended Softpqs were needed for this setup. After downloading and installing both the driver and firmware softpaq from their download manager, the monitors kicked right on and started working.

Link to Whitepaper for ThunderBolt Dock G2 : http://www8.hp.com/h20195/v2/GetPDF.aspx/4AA7-3384ENW.pdf

Softpaqs recommended within whitepaper:

Driver: SP87260, Version 17.4.75.250

Firmware: SP87113, Version 33.2.5.5.1

That whitepaper doc will be extremely handy as it has all of HPs machines that are capable of use with this Dock and which drivers, software, firmware, etc they require for each to work.

I had to set up this firmware.

HP Support Assistant, which I always rely on, has not offered me this update at all.
After the update, everything is running.
