@thirug, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Touchpad Issues on HP Pavilion x360 Convertible Laptop PC 14-dh0001ne!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP Pavilion x360 Convertible Laptop PC 14-dh0001ne touchpad stopped working after a recent Windows 11 update, and the I2C HID DEVICE & BASE SYSTEM DEVICE drivers are no longer functioning correctly, follow these steps to resolve the issue:

Update the BIOS:

  • Ensure your laptop's BIOS is up-to-date. You can find the latest BIOS updates on the HP Driver Downloads page.
  • Navigate to the HP Support site, enter your product name or serial number, and download the latest BIOS update.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to install the BIOS update.

Reinstall Touchpad Drivers:

  • Go to the Device Manager by right-clicking the Start button and selecting 'Device Manager'.
  • Locate the "I2C HID Device" under the "Human Interface Devices" section.
  • Right-click on the "I2C HID Device" and select "Uninstall device". Make sure to check the option to "Delete the driver software for this device" if prompted.
  • Repeat the process for "BASE SYSTEM DEVICE" under "Other devices" or "System devices".
  • Restart your computer.

Download and Install the Latest Drivers:

  • Return to the HP Support site, and enter your product name or serial number.
  • Under "Software, Drivers, and Firmware," select your operating system version.
  • Expand the "Driver-Chipset" and "Driver-Keyboard, Mouse, and Input Devices" sections to find and download the latest touchpad and chipset drivers.
  • Install these drivers and restart your computer if necessary.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
