The right hinge on my HP ENVY x360 recently broke. The hinge is fully defective, and the metal support has popped out of its place. This has caused screen damage to the bottom right area of the screen near the hinge, and that has caused other cracks running through the screen. Based on reading some similar topics on this forum, this appears to be a common issue for this laptop that is not due to user error. My laptop is still under warranty.

I had the exact same issue which happened 2 months out of warranty. None of the HP workers were helpful and they wanted me to pay 400€ for the repairs. It is obviously a factory defect so can you please help me out here?

Hi @derjokerman,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

I understand that this is a Hardware issue. Since the unit might need repair, I would request you to contact HP Phone support who can schedule a repair as per the warranty and the issue can be fixed.

For that to happen, we will give you additional instructions/information via Private Message.

Please check your inbox on the forums page for the private message.

Please mark this post as Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.
