Hi @Tnour14210
Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
I understand how frustrating it must feel to see a camera error interrupting your work on the HP Envy x360. Thank you for any steps you may have already tried—we’ll walk through a clear set of actions together to bring the camera back to life.
Here are the steps you can follow on Windows:
Check Camera Privacy Settings
- Press Windows key + I to open Settings.
- Go to Privacy & Security > Camera.
- Ensure “Camera access” and “Let apps access your camera” are turned on.
- Scroll down and confirm the app you’re using has permission.
Verify Camera in Device Manager
- Right-click Start and select Device Manager.
- Expand “Cameras” or “Imaging devices.”
- If your camera shows with a warning symbol, right-click and choose “Update driver.”
- Select “Search automatically for drivers.”
Run HP Diagnose & Fix Tool
- Open the HP Support Assistant app (preinstalled on most HP devices).
- In the Troubleshooting section, run “Diagnose & Fix” to automatically check and repair camera issues.
- If you don’t have HP Support Assistant, you can download it from HP’s official page: HP Support Assistant.
Test with HP Camera App or Windows Camera App
- Open the Camera app from the Start menu.
- If the camera works here, the issue may be with a specific third-party application.
Check Windows Updates
- Go to Settings > Windows Update.
- Install any pending updates, as these often include driver fixes.
Power Reset
- Shut down the laptop completely.
- Disconnect power adapter and any external devices.
- Hold the power button for 15 seconds, then reconnect and restart.
If the error persists after these steps, you can also explore HP’s official troubleshooting guide for cameras here: HP Notebook PCs - Webcam Troubleshooting.
