@sisteryamii, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds frustrating to have your camera not working when you need it. Let's try to resolve this together.

For the HP 17-cn0xxx model, the camera switch might be a bit tricky to locate. Here are a few steps you can follow:

Check for a Physical Switch: Some HP laptops have a physical switch or button to enable/disable the camera. This switch is often located on the side of the laptop or near the camera itself. Look for a small slider or button with a camera icon.

Keyboard Shortcut: Many HP laptops use a keyboard shortcut to toggle the camera. Look for a key with a camera icon, usually one of the function keys (F1-F12). You might need to press the Fn key along with this function key to enable the camera.

HP Command Center: If your laptop has the HP Command Center installed, you can manage the camera settings from there. Open the HP Command Center from the Start Menu and navigate to the camera settings.

Windows Settings: You can also enable the camera through Windows settings:

  • Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera.
  • Make sure the camera access is turned on for the device and for the apps you want to use.

If these steps don't resolve the issue, you might want to check if the camera driver is up to date or try reinstalling it. You can do this through the Device Manager:

  • Right-click on the Start Menu and select Device Manager.
  • Expand the Cameras section, right-click on your camera, and select Uninstall device.
  • Restart your laptop, and Windows should automatically reinstall the camera driver.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
