Microsoft Windows 11

I have been doing my research to see if the model laptop that I have can handle a 27 inch monitor? I have purchased  Series 5 527sh HP monitor. when I plug the monitor with an HDMI cable or display port cable the laptop does recognize it. The problem is the letters don't come smooth looking compared to a 24inch monitor. I have updated the video drivers and that didn't seem to help. ALL I want to know is whether or not the laptop can handle a 27inch monitor. I feel as if maybe I have answered my own question with both monitors. The 24inch looks great with 1920x1080 resolution while the 27inch has the same resolution, but it doesn't look as good. So, I was hoping maybe there is a trick that someone might know? Also, I have plugged the 27inch on the side of the laptop where the HDMI port is located and same results. Please advise when someone has a chance.

Thank you

I don't think the monitor will improve, I don't think it will make much difference to use an external card.

The resolution of a 24 inch screen is better than 27 inches, see an image on your smartphone that has a smaller screen and you will see that it looks better.

Hi @Texas7771

Yes it is supported, the problem may be the nits of each monitor, the pixels are usually more distant in a 27 inch monitor than a 24 inch monitor,

so, you believe it could be a nits thing? I have also tried changing the refresh rate that didn't help either. So, I guess it would take getting an external video card to make it work how I want it to?

Hi, I had a theory and so I wanted to test it out. The 27inch monitor I had was an HP IPS LED 527 series which worked, but the letters didn't look correct. So, it definitely needed to get changed out.
I bought a 27in samsung  Model: LF27T350FH which basically is a LCD FHD monitor. This one worked just fine and am happy with the results. From your previous comments about the NITS maybe it has something as well, but I think it has something to do with if it's an LED monitor. That's just my theory and I went with it and seems to have worked.
My second monitor is a 24inch LCD FHD and I believe that is why both are working correctly.

The sharpness in a display is given by the nits, the higher the value, the greater the clarity. The screens are usually sold with 200 to 250 nits, but there are 1000 or more, it is very common to see in smart watches screens over 1000 nits because it is necessary.
