My 9, o, l and . keys do not work all the time. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't, sometimes if I tap them a bunch of times they will work. I followed the steps suggested in other posts (delete keyboards and restart, update bios, run system test) and no errors but still they do the same thing. Nothing has been spilled on it, they just randomly quit working sometimes. SO frustrating especially since I use this for school now from home. Please help! What else can I try?

Here's some troubleshooting steps you can try: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03738933

If you are experienced at laptop repairs, you can often replace a keyboard for $25 for a new one and a half-hours work. I have done this on older HP laptops.

But, if you're NOT, there is a serious risk of breaking fragile connectors and cables doing this -- so I do not recommend it.

Instead, I would recommend you hunting down a local laptop repair place to have THEM replace the keyboard. Sometimes, on some models, you have to replace the entire top surface of the laptop, not just the keyboard. So you should get an estimate of what is involved before you have the work done.

Thank you for the link. I ran the keyboard test and it gave me this error code:

0LQ5W1-9PSAA1-GXGJ2K-G1P013

When I search for the code on the HP website its doesn't help me at all as to what to do next. I'm so frustrated with HP support right now. All it will let me do it check for my warranty, which is expired of course, and then there are no other options except to find a repair shop. I just want to know what this code means, and if I can fix it before I take it somewhere. Does it need a certain update? A new keyboard? Any help is SOOOOO appreciated.

Thank you!
