Hi:
You can manually install the Vista graphics driver from your notebook's support page as follows...
Download and run the below driver. You will probably get an unsupported operating system error. Close out of any error windows.
This package contains the driver for the ATI Mobility Radeon Xpress 200 Series video in the supported notebook models and operating systems.
This driver enables the ATI Mobility Radeon Xpress 200 series video display function and provides an interface to adjust the resolution and various display properties.
File name: sp35203.exe
Go to the device manager and click to expand the display adapters device category, and click on the Standard VGA Adapter (or there may be a separate device listed as a Video Controller under an Other Devices category).
Click on the driver tab. Click on Update Driver.
Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran the file.
That folder will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp35203.
Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked, and the driver should install.
Then restart the PC, and the graphics should be working just fine.

Thank you, Paul you gave me a great and precise help to install a driver to this old laptop. Now I'm using windows 10/32b successfully after many months of frustration.
Before doing the manual installation I tried to run the exec in compatibility mode, even though run smoothly without errors, it didn't change the basic Microsoft generic drive, so manually is the right way.
Not only the display is now corrected, also the sleep function is working back to work.
Again, many thanks.
