Hi there,
I have an issue, I'm trying to connect the laptop to an external monitor through the USB type c port using a USB c to HDMI adapter (original which came with the laptop), it was working fine for months and then it stopped it shows a message when I try to connect "display connection might be limited". I have tried multiple troubleshooting like updating the drivers, changing the HDMI cable, run troubleshooting, all different settings in the control panel, detecting etc ... I have tried the monitor with another pc it was working fine, I have also tried the adapter with my phone connecting to the monitor and it worked so the adapter and monitor and HDMI working perfectly. Anyone knows how to solve the issue.
Thank You

Welcome to HP Support Community,
As per the Specification I would suggest you try connecting a USB -C to Display port adapter and check if that works.
Please check the resolution, change it to 1920 x 1080 60 and let me know if that works
Keep me posted
Thank you 🙂

I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...
HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook
-
Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
-
Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
-
Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
-
Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
-
Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.
Also ensure Windows is up to date.
Select the Start button, and then go to Settings > Update & security > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available
Keep me posted how it goes
Thank you 🙂

As you have performed the steps suggested and still having the issue, I would recommend you try to run a test on the Graphics card from F2 (Please remember to capture the failure ID for further assistance).
Alternatively, you can try to use this adapter on another device and check if that works.
Let me know the outcome.
Thank you 🙂

@Jeet_singh
I ran the test, all passed. I have tried the adapter with my phone and with an other laptop and it was working.
What else can i try?
