@MeetBhayani, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're experiencing frequent screen flickering on your Windows 11 system, where the display blinks for 1–2 seconds and then returns to normal. Let's go through a few steps to identify and resolve the issue.

Step 1: Check if Task Manager Flickers

This helps determine whether the issue is caused by a driver or an app.

  1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
  2. Observe the screen:
    • If Task Manager flickers, the issue is likely with the display driver.
    • If only the rest of the screen flickers, it’s likely caused by a software application.

Step 2: Update or Reinstall Display Drivers

  1. Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
  2. Expand Display adapters.
  3. Right-click your graphics driver (e.g., Intel, AMD, or NVIDIA) and select Update driver > Search automatically.

If the issue persists:

  • Right-click the driver > Uninstall device > Restart your PC.
  • Windows will reinstall the driver automatically.

Alternatively, download the latest drivers directly from:

Step 3: Uninstall Problematic Apps

Some apps like iCloud, IDT Audio, or older antivirus software can cause flickering.

  1. Press Windows + I > Apps > Installed apps.
  2. Uninstall any recently installed or suspicious apps.
  3. Restart your PC and check if the issue is resolved.

Step 4: Use HP Support Assistant

HP Support Assistant can automatically detect and fix hardware and driver issues.

Step 5: Run Display Troubleshooter

  1. Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
  2. Run the Video Playback and Hardware and Devices troubleshooters.

Step 6: Boot into Safe Mode

To check if the issue is software-related:

  1. Press Windows + R, type msconfig, and press Enter.
  2. Go to the Boot tab > Check Safe boot > Click OK and restart.
  3. If flickering stops in Safe Mode, it’s likely a software/driver issue.

This issue often stems from a conflict with Microsoft Edge's PlayReady DRM. A quick fix to try is to disable "Use graphics acceleration when available" within your Edge browser settings.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
