Hi @SheilaDomino,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Sorry you’re dealing with this. I know how frustrating hardware stops working after switching the OS. A quick,
Many Chromebooks are built for ChromeOS only. When you install Windows 10, some device drivers (touchpad, touchscreen, HP/B&O audio control) may not exist or be compatible; that’s the most common cause.
Try these steps (in order):
- Check Device Manager
- Right-click Start → Device Manager. Look for devices with a yellow! (Unknown device / HID / Sound).
- If you see “HID-compliant touch screen” or unknown HID devices, right-click → Enable device (or Update driver → Search automatically).
- Run Windows Update + Optional drivers
- Settings → Update & Security → Windows Update → Check for updates → View optional updates → Driver updates. Install any offered.

- Install the chipset first
- Install Intel/AMD chipset drivers for your exact model (chipset must be installed before input/audio drivers). If HP publishes Windows drivers for your model, get them from hp.com/support → enter product number.

- Touchpad drivers
- Under “Mice and other pointing devices”, check for Synaptics/ELAN/HID. If missing, try updating via Device Manager or install Synaptics/ELAN drivers matching your hardware.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day!
