Hello.
I buyed a HP Envy 27s and tried to connect it with my laptop. But i really don't undestand why my highest resolution is just 2560 x 1600. What can i do? Do i need a HDMI 2.0 or Display Port? I thought it would work without it, because on the information page about my laptop you can read about "4k support"
Can i do it with USB-C? I don't want to double the Display, i want a second Display for editing Pictures in Photoshop.
Please help me!
Thank you.

Is it an HP Pavilion x360 - 14-cd0900ng ? Its specs
https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c06090365
From its manual, its HDMI port supports up to 1920×1080 @ 60Hz and you get 2560 x 1600 which is more than supported resolutions.
Sorry to say, the USB-C on your machine ONLY is USB Type-C™ 3.1 Gen 1 (Data transfer only, up to 5Gb/s) port which does not support video out properly. You may need an adapter/dock to be able to get 4K external monitor. Please try

Your machine has 2 USB 3.1 type A ports. It is much better to use them on the list. Sorry the USB-C port on your machine is hopeless.

Ok, found this: https://www.amazon.de/gp/aw/d/B072FHTZ8V/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?smid=A3JWKAKR8XB7XF&psc=1
Will try this. The docking stations you send me are more expensive, should work with that i think. And its with 60hz 🙂
