ProBook 655 & UltraSlim Dockin
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

In the last few months I have purchased the ProBook 655, UltraSlim Docking Station, and two monitors all from HP.com.  I am trying to connect the monitors from the Docking station's DisplayPort to the Monitors VGA port.  The screen flicker, shake, and go black then come back on again.

I have updated the graphics card. Updated the firmware for the Docking Station with several different updates (SP69276.exe, SP74203.exe, and SP75855.exe). All this resulted in absolutely no change. Also, tried 4 different cables.

If I undock the computer and use the displayport on the side of the computer the monitors work perfectly.  So I don't think that it has to do with the graphics card.  The VGA to VGA cable between the docking station and monitor works great too.  But I really desire to run to full size monitors and there is only one VGA port on the docking station.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to try next?  I am finding it impossible to even find a phone number to call HP to see if they can help.

Never found a solution, so I returned the HP W2082a monitors that I was trying to run from the displayports on the docking station.

Purchased a Dell monitor from Best Buy.  Not much more expensive than the one I had purchased from HP.com.  The displayport works perfectly.  It wasn't the computer, or the displayport on the docking station, it was the crappy monitors.

Lesson learned!  Can't make any assumptions, never even considered that the monitors were the problem.

I just hope that this posting helps at least one person solve their problem and not spend the hours doing research and purchasing extra cables.
