Hi @uandi

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand how distracting it must be to notice flickering light in the corner of your Pavilion 14‑ec1003AU screen. Thank you for already observing the issue carefully — that attention helps us narrow down the cause.

Let’s go through a set of steps that can help stabilize the display:

Check display drivers

  • Open Device Manager, expand “Display adapters.”
  • Right‑click your AMD graphics adapter and choose “Update driver.”
  • Select “Search automatically for drivers.”
  • If Windows does not find one, download the latest graphics driver from HP’s support page:
    HP Pavilion Laptop 14‑ec1003AU Drivers
  • Install the graphics driver package and restart.

Adjust refresh rate

  • Right‑click the desktop and select “Display settings.”
  • Scroll down to “Advanced display settings.”
  • Check the refresh rate and set it to the recommended value (usually 60 Hz).
  • Apply changes and observe if flickering reduces.

Run HP App diagnostics

  • Open the HP App on your Windows 11 system.
  • Select your laptop, go to “Printer & PC diagnostics,” and run “Display and Video” checks.
  • This tool can automatically detect and correct driver or configuration issues.

Check brightness and power settings

  • Go to Settings > System > Power & battery.
  • Disable adaptive brightness or auto brightness if enabled.
  • Set brightness manually and see if the flicker persists.

External monitor test

  • Connect your laptop to an external monitor using HDMI.
  • If the external display works fine, the flicker is isolated to the laptop’s built‑in panel.
  • If both flicker, it points to a driver or graphics setting issue.

BIOS update

  • On the HP support page for your model, check under “BIOS” for the latest update.
  • Install it carefully following on‑screen instructions, as BIOS updates can improve hardware stability.

These steps should help reduce or eliminate the flickering. If the issue continues after updating drivers and BIOS, it may be related to the display panel hardware itself, but often driver and refresh rate adjustments resolve it.
