Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
I understand how frustrating it must be to experience FPS drops while playing games on your HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-ec2150ax, especially since it stabilizes after 30-40 seconds.
Let’s go through some troubleshooting steps to improve performance.
1. Check Power Settings
- Open Control Panel → Power Options.
- Select High Performance Mode.
- Click Change plan settings → Change advanced power settings.
- Under Processor power management, set Minimum processor state to 100%.
2. Update Graphics Drivers
- Visit the HP Support page for your HP Pavilion 15-ec2150ax.
- Download and install the latest NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 driver.
- Also update AMD Ryzen 5 5600H chipset drivers.
3. Adjust NVIDIA Control Panel Settings
- Open NVIDIA Control Panel → Manage 3D Settings.
- Set Power Management Mode to Prefer Maximum Performance.
- Disable V-Sync and G-Sync (if applicable).
4. Monitor GPU & CPU Temperatures
- Use HWMonitor or MSI Afterburner to check temperatures.
- If GPU temps exceed 85°C, consider repasting the GPU or cleaning the cooling system.
5. Disable Background Processes
- Open Task Manager → Startup tab.
- Disable unnecessary apps that may consume resources.
6. Optimize In-Game Settings
- Lower Shadow Quality, Anti-Aliasing, and Texture Filtering.
- Set FPS cap to 240Hz (matching your monitor refresh rate).
Let me know how it goes, and I’ll be happy to assist further! I appreciate your patience while we work through this.
