That is not good news.

What has most likely happened is the AMD GPU has overheated over time, and now has failed.

It won't take the driver.

It is a pretty common issue with the dv6/7-6xxx model series.

The only fix is to replace the motherboard, and I don't recommend that you throw good money after bad.

It's time to look into getting a new notebook.

Hi:

Your notebook has the amd/intel switchable graphics.

For that configuration, you can only install this driver, which installs the drivers for both the Intel and AMD GPU's.

You must not install the separate Intel graphics driver.

I don't know what exact model dv6 notebook you have, but I can see from your screenshot that it has a 2nd generation Intel core processor.

You would use this driver if it appears on your notebook's support page.

I suggest you uninstall the Intel graphics adapter, check the uninstall driver box and restart the PC before installing the correct driver.

You may even have to reinstall W7....

OK, so it is the same driver on your notebook's support page...

I suggest you clean install W7.

The first driver you should install is the Intel chipset installation utility and restart the PC.

The install the above graphics driver and restart the PC.

You're very welcome.

Sorry to have to let you know the bad news.

But you tried everything you could, so when the driver won't install, the AMD GPU has failed.

Tomorrow I will go to the service center to replace the AMD GPU

They will have to replace the motherboard.

I don't know if just the GPU can be replaced as it is soldered to the motherboard.
