HP Pavilion x360 14 Convertible PC 14-dy2000 (4R5T4AV)

I have a laptop that can convert to tablet mode. If the screen falls asleep in tablet mode, i have been reopening it as a laptop, putting in password, then re-convertiting it. Is there any way to use to just from tablet mode, wake it up from there?

Hi @Francesreyes,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Pavilion X360 14 is not waking up properly from sleep mode when in tablet mode, there are a few things you can try to resolve this issue.

Check Power Settings:

  • Go to "Settings" on your laptop.
  • Select "System" and then "Power & sleep."
  • Under the "Sleep" section, make sure the setting for "On battery power, turn off after" and "When plugged in, turn off after" are set to a reasonable time or set them to "Never" for testing purposes.

Update Graphics Drivers:

  • Outdated or corrupted graphics drivers can sometimes cause issues. Visit the HP support website or use Windows Update to ensure that your graphics drivers are up to date.

BIOS/UEFI Update:

  • Check if there are any BIOS/UEFI updates available for your laptop on the HP support website. Sometimes, firmware updates can address power management issues.

Tablet Mode Settings:

  • Navigate to "Settings" and select "System."
  • Go to "Tablet" in the left sidebar and check the settings related to sleep and power for tablet mode.

Reset Power Plans:

  • Open "Control Panel" and go to "Power Options."
  • Choose the power plan you are using and click on "Change plan settings."
  • Click on "Change advanced power settings."
  • Reset the settings to default or adjust them according to your preferences.

Windows Updates:

  • Ensure that your operating system is up to date by installing the latest Windows updates.

Remember to back up your important data before making any significant changes to your system settings or updating firmware.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
