HP ENVY x360 15.6 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 15-eu0000 (267R8AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello. I have HP envy x360 convertible 15-eu0xxx, tablet mode and auto rotation are not working on my computer after windows 11 update. I have checked and downloaded all windows updates, also used HP Support Assistant, checked and updated all drivers with Driver Booster Premium, read a lot of information and watched every tutorial on youtube. There is no non-farm result. My computer's tablet mode and auto rotation still don't work.
I manually added Rotation lock to the shortcut bar but it doesn't respond when I turn it on or off.
How can I solve this problem?

Hi @8CCG123X7Y,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you've already taken several steps to troubleshoot the issue with tablet mode and auto rotation on your HP Envy x360 convertible after the Windows 11 update. Let's explore a few more potential solutions.

Check for Hardware Issues: Ensure that there are no hardware issues affecting the gyroscope or accelerometer responsible for auto rotation. You can do this by running hardware diagnostics, which are often available in the BIOS or through the HP Diagnostics tool.

BIOS/UEFI Update: Ensure that your laptop's BIOS/UEFI firmware is up to date. Manufacturers sometimes release updates that include improvements or fixes for issues related to hardware functionality.

Reinstall Graphics Drivers: Uninstall the graphics drivers for your device and then reinstall them. Go to the Device Manager, locate the display adapters, right-click on your graphics card, and select "Uninstall device." Restart your computer, and Windows should automatically reinstall the necessary drivers. Alternatively, you can download the latest graphics drivers from the HP website.

HP Envy x360 Specific Drivers: Make sure you have all the specific drivers for your HP Envy x360 model. Go to the HP support website, enter your laptop's model number, and download and install the latest drivers for your system, especially those related to sensors and input devices.

HP Envy x360 Software/Utility: Check if HP provides any specific software or utility for your Envy x360 that manages tablet mode and auto rotation. If such software exists, make sure it's updated, or reinstall it.

Windows Registry: Be cautious with this step and back up your registry before making any changes. You can check the registry for settings related to tablet mode. Open the Registry Editor (regedit) and navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\AutoRotation

Ensure that the Enable key is set to 1. If it's not there, you may need to create it. Restart your computer after making any changes.

System File Checker (SFC) and DISM: Run the System File Checker tool and Deployment Image Service and Management Tool to scan and repair corrupted system files. Open a Command Prompt with administrative privileges and run the following commands:

sfc /scannow

dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

Restart your computer after these processes are complete.

Create a New User Account: Sometimes, issues can be account-specific. Create a new user account and see if tablet mode and auto-rotation work in the new account. If they do, it may indicate a problem with your user profile.

Rollback Windows Update: If the issue started immediately after a Windows update, you might consider rolling back the update. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > View update history > Uninstall updates. Locate the recent update, right-click, and select Uninstall. Keep in mind that this is a temporary solution, and Microsoft may provide a fix in subsequent updates.

Remember to back up your important data before making significant changes to your system, and approach registry edits with caution.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
