i was wondering would a monitor that is 144 hz work on my laptop that has a hdmi port?

It has one HDMI 2.0 port. In theory HDMI 2.0 port with a right cable can handle up to 240 Hz when using 1080p resolution, 144 Hz when using 1440p resolution, and 60 Hz when using 4K resolution.
