Open your Product Home
Enter the device type and model name of your HP product
Next
Open Category Setup & User Guides
Find and open the Service and Maintenance Guide or the User Guide
The first chapter and the illustrations for the keyboard area list the available options for your model / series.
NOTES
- On those systems where the feature is offered, the Fingerprint reader is OPTIONAL.
That means,
- On models where the fingerprint reader is available, it is true that not every model will include the feature
On those systems where the feature is available,
and
If your model does not include a fingerprint reader,
You can purchase the parts and install the hardware on your own.
Refer to your Maintenance and Service Guide for the part number(s) and installation procedure.

The driver for the reader will be available for supported versions of Windows in Category Software & Drivers

Check whether your Device Manager includes a section for Biometric Devices
No Biometric Devices section = No fingerprint reader
Reminder: If the system does not include the fingerprint sensor, there might be a "cover plate" box where the reader would be located.
Control Panel > icon view > Device Manager

Check Show hidden devices
Select Devices by Type
Expand Category (for example Biometric Devices)
Right-Click on the Driver > Select / open Properties

Compare Driver version to the driver listed in system's support page Category Software and Drivers
