Victus by HP Gaming Laptop 15-fa0000 (680A2AV)

I enjoy reading on my computer late at night but find normal brightness to be too bright and aggressive to my eyes so I put the brightness down to the lowest setting. I did that with my new computer (victus) and found that the lowest brightness is still far too bright (maybe 30 or 40% brightness of my previous computer - lenovo yoga 920).
I tried dimming apps like dimmer or eyecare but they don't actually turn the lcds down so it only appears darker with the same amount of light coming out.

Is there anyway I can make it so that the brightness can go down further than what it is now?

Your machine should have 2 hotkeys as shown

The left key is for dimmer and the right key is for brighter.

I am aware of how to dim the screen normally but I find the darkest setting to be too bright still, is there anyway I can make it darker than the darkest setting with the current dimming settings
