Recently I have had an issue connecting my XP Pen Artist 15.6 pro V2 graphic tablet to my laptop. I have had it since December and have had zero problems until now. This started after my laptop had restarted itself out of nowhere while I was using it. Once I had turned it back on, the tablet no longer displayed the laptop's screen like it was supposed to, though the stylus was still useable. I've done everything to try to get it to work again and nothing has changed. I even tried the tablet on a different laptop that is the same model as my own and it worked perfectly fine, leaving me to the conclusion that the problem is in my laptop. I would appreciate getting help on this, given it has been an issue for around a month now. Thank you.

Hi @tiki23

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I understand that the tablet is functioning correctly, but after the unexpected restart your laptop’s display output stopped connecting to the XP Pen Artist 15.6 Pro V2. Since the tablet works on another identical laptop, the issue lies with your laptop’s HDMI/USB‑C video signal, which may be damaged, misconfigured, or reset in the display settings so the tablet is no longer recognized as a secondary monitor.

I would request you to please follow the steps:

Test Cables and Ports

  • Use a different HDMI or USB‑C cable to rule out cable failure.
  • Connect another external monitor to your laptop’s HDMI/USB‑C port.
  • If that monitor also fails, the laptop port may be damaged.

Check Windows Display Settings

  • Right‑click desktop
  • Click on Display settings.
  • Click Detect monitors.
  • Ensure the XP Pen tablet is recognized and set as an extended or duplicate display.

Reinstall Graphics Drivers

  • Go to your GPU https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers
  • Download the latest driver package for your laptop’s graphics card.
  • Uninstall the current driver completely
  • Go to Device Manager
  • Click on Display adapters
  • Right click and Uninstall.
  • Restart the Device.
  • Perform a clean install of the new driver.
  • Restart your laptop and test the tablet display again.

Reinstall Tablet Drivers

  • Uninstall all XP Pen drivers/software from your laptop.
  • Download the latest XP Pen Artist 15.6 Pro V2 drivers from XP Pen’s official site.
  • Install them fresh and restart your laptop.
  • Connect the tablet and check if the display is restored.

Update BIOS/UEFI

  • Restart your laptop and keep tapping F10
  • Reset BIOS settings to factory defaults.
  • Check your laptop manufacturer’s support site for a BIOS update.
  • Apply the update carefully with stable power (plugged in, no interruptions).

Hope this helps, Please revert if the issue persists.

Take care and have an amazing day!
