HP ENVY x360 Laptop - 15-ee0002na
Microsoft Windows 11

Camera on laptop keeps switching on and off blocking the view of the centre of the screen. I've tried uninstalling and resetting but no luck. Any suggestions?

Hi @Labradoo2024,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble with your laptop camera constantly switching on and off—it must be really distracting to have it interrupting your screen view like that.

First, you should check that the camera lens cover is completely off. If it is and your webcam is still not working, you can try restoring the webcam in Device Manager.

Hi Elohi,

Thankyou for your message and information.

I contacted HP Smartfriend for support and it appears the solution has been found. I'm not sure exactly what they did but the problem has only briefly occurred once since, so fingers crossed this is resolved.

Best wishes

Gil
