Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

My screen will operate perfectly for several hours, and then will lose its resolution and clarity, and the colors will start "rolling" and become unreadable.   When this happens, an attached hdmi monitor is perfect, and I can use the finger pad and unreadable touch screen to operate the laptop.  My gut tells me is is something in the lcd or whatever is beneath the touchscreen, because the touchscreen works.  I can scroll on the laptop touch screen when this event happens.  It is episodic.
