light keybord doesn't work at notebook

The spec's say that this notebook should have keybord light but I cannot seem to activate it. I have no correct f5 symbol so can't activate, is this an error in the spec's or am I doing something wrong. I hope I don't have to send this notebook back, I just properly installed it.... Please advise! Grtz Tamara

Can you see other key with the following symbol ?

          

Where is its specs ? Is it from HP or from a vendor ? I can only  find Official HP Pavilion 17-cd0919nd but not HP Pavilion G 17-cd0919nd, I believe it is a Blue machine.

If NO backlit symbol anywhere that means your machine does not have backlit keyboard.

then - on this model, one source indicates no backlit keyboard

Presumably the key is marked with one of the icons for this feature - Action key F5

Assuming that the keyboard does include the Backlit function, it might be necessary that you press FN key + plus the action key.

The Windows key on your keyboard is labelled as a Windows flag icon   or   and is used in many key press combinations.

• To switch from multimedia to standard function, press the fn+esc keys simultaneously; this locks the keys to standard function.
• To switch back from standard function to multimedia, press the fn+esc keys simultaneously again. Pressing the fn key simultaneously with an f1 to f11 key performs the standard function.
