- Ensure the touchpad is enabled.
Use HP Support Assistant
HP Support Assistant can help diagnose and fix issues with your touchpad.

Update Touchpad Driver via Device Manager
- Open Device Manager:
- Press Win + X and select Device Manager from the menu.
- Locate Touchpad:
- Expand Mice and other pointing devices.
- Look for the touchpad device (e.g., Synaptics, ELAN, or HID-compliant mouse).
- Update Driver:
- Right-click the touchpad device and select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
- If not available, select Browse my computer for drivers, and point to the folder where you have the latest driver downloaded from the HP website.
Check for Latest Drivers
- Visit HP Drivers & Downloads Page:
- Download Touchpad Drivers:
- Look for the touchpad driver section.
- Download the latest compatible driver for Windows 11.
- Install the Driver:
- Run the downloaded driver setup and follow the installation instructions.
Perform a System Reset
- Perform a Hard Reset:
- Turn off your laptop.
- Unplug all external devices and power adapters.
- Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
