Using the touchpad on my laptop the cursor goes opposite direction: when I move my finger right it goes left, and when I move it down it goes up and vice versa. It started doing this few days ago while using the laptop. I restarted but didn't help. I searched the web for solution but from what is available, my TouchPad under settings only has option to control the mouse sensitivity. Is there a way to solve this touchpad issue? Thank you

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I did some research on this case found that by tapping the upper right corner of the touchpad twice should disable the touchpad. Below image is an example:

However, if you would like to disable the touchpad from the Windows then please follow the below steps:

  • In the Windows search box, type TouchPad.
  • From the results list click TouchPad settings.
  • Click Additional settings.
  • To disable the Touchpad when using a USB mouse, check Disable external pointing device when the external USB pointing device is attached.
  • To determine if the icon for the Touchpad is displayed in the taskbar, and if it is, how it appears, make the appropriate selection under Tray Icon.

If the suggested options are not available in your laptop then please install the Synaptics TouchPad driver. You may restart the laptop once the touchpad drivers are installed. Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
