Hi @Shiney5,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your camera is showing a blank screen on your HP ENVY x360 15 Convertible PC, try the following steps to troubleshoot.

Check Camera Privacy Settings:

  • Go to Settings > Privacy > Camera.
  • Ensure that access to the camera is enabled for apps and that the specific app you’re using has permission to access the camera.

Update Camera Drivers:

  • Open Device Manager (right-click the Start button and select it).
  • Expand the Imaging Devices section and find your camera.
  • Right-click on your camera and select Update driver.
  • Choose Search automatically for updated driver software and follow the prompts.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
  • Click Check for updates to ensure you have the latest updates.

Restart Your PC:

  • Sometimes a simple restart can resolve the issue.

Check the Camera App:

  • Open the built-in Camera app to see if it works there.
  • If it does, the issue might be with the specific app you were using. Try reinstalling or updating that app.

Check for Conflicting Apps:

  • Ensure no other application is using the camera. Close any other apps that might be using the camera and try again.

Reinstall the Camera Driver:

  • Go to Device Manager, right-click your camera under Imaging Devices, and select Uninstall device.
  • Restart your computer, and Windows should automatically reinstall the camera driver.

Perform a Hardware Diagnostic:

  • HP PCs often come with built-in diagnostic tools. You can run a diagnostic test to check if there are any hardware issues with your camera.

Reset Your PC:

  • As a last resort, if none of the above steps work, you might consider performing a system reset. Make sure to back up your data before doing so.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
