Hi @Shiney5,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your camera is showing a blank screen on your HP ENVY x360 15 Convertible PC, try the following steps to troubleshoot.
Check Camera Privacy Settings:
- Go to Settings > Privacy > Camera.
- Ensure that access to the camera is enabled for apps and that the specific app you’re using has permission to access the camera.
Update Camera Drivers:
- Open Device Manager (right-click the Start button and select it).
- Expand the Imaging Devices section and find your camera.
- Right-click on your camera and select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software and follow the prompts.
Check for Windows Updates:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
- Click Check for updates to ensure you have the latest updates.
Restart Your PC:
- Sometimes a simple restart can resolve the issue.
Check the Camera App:
- Open the built-in Camera app to see if it works there.
- If it does, the issue might be with the specific app you were using. Try reinstalling or updating that app.
Check for Conflicting Apps:
- Ensure no other application is using the camera. Close any other apps that might be using the camera and try again.
Reinstall the Camera Driver:
- Go to Device Manager, right-click your camera under Imaging Devices, and select Uninstall device.
- Restart your computer, and Windows should automatically reinstall the camera driver.
Perform a Hardware Diagnostic:
- HP PCs often come with built-in diagnostic tools. You can run a diagnostic test to check if there are any hardware issues with your camera.
Reset Your PC:
- As a last resort, if none of the above steps work, you might consider performing a system reset. Make sure to back up your data before doing so.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
