OMEN by HP Laptop 15t-en000
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

nvm, I found the solution to my problem, here's what I did:

  1. turn off g sync from the Nvidia control panel.

  2. close the omen gaming hub if you have it open.

  3. go to settings > system > display (be sure to select the monitor your experiencing the problem with)> graphic settings > TURN VARIABLE REFRESH RATE ON > close the window.

  4. restart your pc/laptop just in case, and the problem should be gone and free sync premium should appear as enabled in your monitor's UI.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

hi everyone, I normally use an external monitor (BENQ Mobius ex2510 @ 144hz) with my HP omen 15 laptop (also 144hz), but every time I open the omen gaming hub the external monitor screen's refresh rate gets capped at 30hz, and when I close the app the refresh rate goes back to 144hz. I do not know what's causing the issue, but here's extra info that might help:

1. I use the monitor in "show content only on display 2 (aka turn off my laptop screen and show the content only on the external monitor)."

2. changing the display option to "duplicate these displays" seem to solve the issue, but i don't want my laptop screen to be on all the time (besides, this option makes me lose fps in games).

3. I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but that doesn't work either.

4. The size of the texts and apps is set to 125%, but changing it to 100% doesn't do anything.

How do you connect them ? Please note: Refresh rate goes up resolution will go down and vice versa.

Both ends or only one end ? Direct or goes thru a niddle man ? If your monitor also supported DP 1.4 , in theory you should get more than 4K at 60Hz.

I don't have a 4K monitor but I use mini Display on my Omen to HDMI 2.0 cable I can connect to my 4K Panasonic TV w/o any problem.

Don't worry, I already solved it (I even explained how I did it to possibly help others), but thanks for being willing to help! 🙂
