Hi @Gahos,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing a brightness bar with your HP 15s eq 2182 au. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the problem with your brightness bar:

Check the Keyboard: Make sure the brightness function keys (usually labeled with a sun icon) are not stuck or being pressed unintentionally.

Update Display Drivers:

  • Right-click on the Start menu and select "Device Manager."
  • Expand the "Display adapters" section, right-click your graphics driver, and choose "Update driver."
  • Follow the prompts to search for updates.

Adjust Settings in Windows:

  • Go to Settings > System > Display.
  • Check if there's an option for "Change brightness automatically when lighting changes" and toggle it off if it's enabled.

Disable Adaptive Brightness:

  • Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options.
  • Click on "Change plan settings" next to your selected plan.
  • Click on "Change advanced power settings."
  • Expand "Display" and then "Enable adaptive brightness." Set both "On battery" and "Plugged in" to "Off."

Run HP Support Assistant:

  • Open HP Support Assistant from your Start menu and check for any updates or issues it might find.

Check for Malware: Run a full system scan using Windows Defender or any trusted antivirus software to ensure there's no malware affecting your system.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
