Hi @nagu2,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
The camera driver should come from the HP Support Downloads webpage here for your Serial Number so it's exact: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers
Did the camera ever work properly? If so do you remember what changed just before it did? Do you have a System Restore to a point before the problem began?
This looks like a hardware issue.
A blurry camera on your HP ENVY x360 can be due to several reasons, including software issues, driver problems, or hardware defects. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:
1. Clean the Camera Lens
Make sure the camera lens is clean and free from dust or smudges. Use a soft, lint-free cloth to gently clean the lens.
2. Update Camera Drivers
Ensure your camera drivers are up-to-date. Follow these steps:
- Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand the Cameras section.
- Right-click on your camera and select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
3. Adjust Camera Settings
Sometimes, adjusting the camera settings can improve the quality:
- Open the Camera app.
- Click on the Settings (gear) icon.
- Adjust the brightness, contrast, and other settings to see if it improves the image quality.
4. Check for Windows Updates
Ensure your Windows OS is up-to-date:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security.
- Click Check for updates and install any available updates.
Kindly check the next set of steps in the next post.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi @nagu2,
Please find the next set of steps below.
5. Test with Different Applications
Test the camera with different applications like Zoom, Skype, or the built-in Camera app to see if the issue persists across all platforms.
6. Roll Back Driver
If the problem started after a recent update, try rolling back the driver:
- Go to Device Manager.
- Right-click on your camera and select Properties.
- Go to the Driver tab and click Roll Back Driver.
7. Reinstall Camera Driver
Reinstalling the camera driver can sometimes resolve issues:
- Go to Device Manager.
- Right-click on your camera and select Uninstall device.
- Restart your laptop; Windows should automatically reinstall the driver.
8. Check Camera Privacy Settings
Ensure that camera access is allowed:
- Go to Settings > Privacy > Camera.
- Make sure the camera access for this device is on.
- Allow apps to access your camera.
9. Use HP Support Assistant
Use the HP Support Assistant to check for driver updates and diagnostics:
- Open HP Support Assistant.
- Go to the Updates section and check for any updates related to the camera.
- Run any diagnostics available for the camera.
If none of the above solutions work, there might be a hardware issue with the camera. Contact HP Phone Support for further assistance or consider getting the camera repaired or replaced.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
