Hi @VICTUSdeeps123,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your laptop!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Verify Touch Screen Capability:

  • First, confirm that your specific model is designed with a touch screen. You can check the product specifications or manual that came with your laptop, or visit the HP website product support page for your model.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Ensure your system is up-to-date with the latest Windows updates. Updates often contain essential drivers and fixes.
  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates.

Install HP Support Assistant:

  • Use the HP Support Assistant to detect and install necessary drivers. This tool is designed to manage updates and device support for HP products.
  • If it's not pre-installed, download and install it from the HP Support Assistant page.

Device Manager Troubleshooting:

  • Open Device Manager by right-clicking on the Start menu and selecting “Device Manager.”
  • Check if there’s a section for "Human Interface Devices," then look for "HID-compliant touch screen."
  • If missing or there’s a yellow warning icon, right-click and select "Update driver."

Reboot the System:

  • Sometimes a simple restart can resolve issues where devices don’t appear in the Device Manager.

Check BIOS Settings:

  • Enter the BIOS setup (usually by pressing F10 during startup) and check if there’s any setting relating to enabling/disabling the touch screen.

I hope this helps.
