Hi @15-fd0070TU

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Screen flickering can be super frustrating—especially when there’s no physical damage.

Let’s walk through a few troubleshooting steps to get your HP Laptop 15-fd0070TU back to normal:

Step-by-Step Fix for Screen Flickering

1. Update Graphics Drivers

Outdated or corrupted drivers are a common cause.

  • Press Windows + X → choose Device Manager
  • Expand Display adapters
  • Right-click your graphics card (e.g., AMD Radeon or Intel) → Update driverSearch automatically

2. Check Refresh Rate

A mismatched refresh rate can cause flickering.

  • Go to Settings > System > Display
  • Scroll down → click Advanced display settings
  • Set Refresh rate to 60Hz (or the recommended value)

3. Run System File Checker

This checks for corrupted system files.

  • Open Command Prompt (Admin) and type:sfc /scannow
  • Press Enter and let it complete.

4. Boot in Safe Mode

This helps isolate software issues.

  • Press Windows + R → type msconfig
  • Go to Boot tab → check Safe boot → restart
  • If flickering stops in Safe Mode, it’s likely a driver or app conflict

5. BIOS & Chipset Update

HP has released updates that fix flickering on newer models.

If the flickering continues even after these steps, it could be a loose internal display cable or a faulty panel—especially if it flickers when you move the screen.

Let me know how far you get, and I’ll help you dig deeper if needed. Let’s get it sorted!
