Hi @victus211,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Thanks for your patience. Based on your description and the latest support insights, the black screen and clock freeze issue on your Victus by HP 15.6" Gaming Laptop (15-fb1000, Ryzen 5, product 845A2UA) running Windows 11 is likely caused by a firmware, graphics driver, or power management conflict, Please try the steps shared below to fix the issue.
1. Update BIOS and Chipset Drivers
- Go to the HP Support, Download and install: Victus Gaming Laptop 15-fb1013dx (845A2UA) Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support
- The latest BIOS update
- The AMD Chipset driver
- The AMD Radeon Graphics driver
- Restart your laptop after each installation.
⚠️ BIOS updates are critical for resolving embedded controller and power state issues that cause freezes and black screens.
2. Disable Fast Startup
- Open Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do.
- Click Change settings that are currently unavailable.
- Uncheck Turn on fast startup.
- Save and restart.
3. Run System File Checker
- Press Win + X → Terminal (Admin).
- Type: sfc /scannow
- Press Enter and wait for it to complete.
4. Adjust Power and Sleep Settings
- Go to Settings > System > Power & Battery > Screen and Sleep.
- Set both Screen and Sleep to longer durations or Never (for testing).
- Also, under Additional Power Settings, choose High Performance or Balanced.
5. Perform a Hard Reset
- Shut down the laptop.
- Unplug the charger.
- Hold the power button for 15 seconds.
- Plug it back in and power on.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
