hi everyone!
my computer screen recently broke when one of my friends sat on it. my dad went to get it fixed and when he got back my resolution had changed. it used to be 1920x1080 but now its 1366x768. i love to play high resolution games ike the sims 4 and i would really like to play it again. it says that the driver is intel HD graphics 630. im not sure if the people who fixed it changed my driver but its the only thing i can think of. i have tried updating windows and the drivers but nothing has worked. followed a million tutorials and nothing is helping. please if you know how to help, tell me 🙂
also, this message showed up when i tried the intel driver & support assistant:
A customized computer manufacturer driver is installed on your computer. The Intel Driver & Support Assistant is not able to update the driver. Installing a generic Intel driver instead of the customized computer manufacturer driver may cause technical issues. Contact Hewlett-Packard (HP) for the latest driver for your computer.

Hi:
It sounds to me like the repair center replaced the original WLED-backlit (1920 x 1080) screen your notebook had, with a lower resolution 1366 x 768 display.
It has nothing to do with the drivers.
Also, since your notebook has the Intel/Nvidia switchable graphics adapters, the only drivers you can install are the custom made Intel and Nvidia switchable graphics adapter drivers from your notebook's support page.
If you try to install the graphics driver from Intel, it will most likely cause the nVidia adapter from working.
In other words, the nvidia graphics adapter will not automatically engage when the Intel graphics adapter can't handle the video content.

You're very welcome.
Yes, the only way to fix the issue would be to have them install the right screen.
According to the service manual, there are 2 display panels...FHD and UHD, and I'm pretty sure that you need the UHD one.
See chapter 3, page 21, item 5 for the two display panels offered.

Hi:
I think I am incorrect...you probably need the FHD display.
The UHD display is an even higher resolution than 1920x1080 according to what I have been reading.
