HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-cx0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

My screen goes black then turns grey/faded colors. It happened once before plus it went to safe mode with the big windows and lettering and icons. Tech support had me run updates that I hadn't done including updated BIOS and that worked for a few weeks but its been doing the first part again. I'm worried that it's the graphics card. Thanks for any help anyone can give me

@heimwehr,

Thank you for posting your query on HP Community,

Have you recently made any software or hardware changes on the PC before the issue started?

Does the issue happen even when you're on the Bios screen(F10).

Have you tried to connect an external monitor and check if the issue persists.

If the issue persists on the BIOS page it is a hardware issue with the display.

If the issue does not persist on the BIOS page try updating the graphics, chipset and BIOS on the PC to the latest version.

Uninstall the graphics driver from device manager and install the latest version of BIOS,chipset and graphics drivers on the PC using the HP support assistant.
