numbers lock beeps when pressed

but tried to type numbers didn't work pressed lock key beep but no numbers turned off laptop turned on used it then numbers didn't type after that just beeps /////****** works but that is all

This usually occurs when the toggle key is on, here's how you can turn off to resolve the issue:

Step 1: Windows button, select control panel, 
 

Step 2: Open Appearance and Personalization.
 

 

Step 3: Tap Turn on easy access keys under Ease of Access Center to move on.
 

 

Step 4: Check the box before Turn off Toggle Keys and hit OK in the Make the keyboard easier to use window.
