Hi
My ph spectre x360 cannot connect to the projector with an HDMI adapter into the USB type c. Other Laptops such as thinkPad have no issue. It simply cannot even detect being plugged in and the projector screening remains blank.

Hi @365points,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd like to help!
If your HP Spectre x360 is having trouble connecting to a projector, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot the issue:
Check the Physical Connections:
- Ensure that the projector is powered on and connected to a power source.
- Make sure that the projector is properly connected to your HP Spectre x360 using the correct cable (HDMI, VGA, DisplayPort, etc.).
- Verify that the cable is securely connected to both the laptop and the projector.
Select the Correct Input Source on the Projector:
- Use the projector's remote control or onboard controls to select the correct input source (e.g., HDMI, VGA) that matches the cable you're using.
Check Display Settings on Your Laptop:
- On your HP Spectre x360, press the "Windows" key and "P" key simultaneously. This keyboard shortcut opens the display settings.
- Choose the appropriate display mode. For a projector, you often want to select "Duplicate" or "Second Screen Only."
- You may also need to adjust the display resolution to match the projector's native resolution.
Restart Your Laptop and Projector:
- Sometimes, a simple restart of both your laptop and the projector can resolve connectivity issues.
Test with a Different Cable:
- If possible, try using a different cable to connect your laptop to the projector. Sometimes, the cable itself may be faulty.
Try a Different HDMI or DisplayPort Port:
- If your laptop has multiple HDMI or DisplayPort ports, try connecting to a different port.
Check Projector Compatibility:
- Ensure that your laptop's video output is compatible with the projector's input. For example, if your laptop has an HDMI output, make sure the projector has an HDMI input.
If you've tried all of the above steps and are still unable to connect to the projector, it's possible that there may be a hardware issue with either the laptop or the projector. In such cases, you may need to contact HP phone support.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
