Pavilion 15-ab289sa
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Screenshot (2).pngWhenever I start up my Intel Driver Update Utility, it always mentions that my graphics card cannot be updated and the version that it wants to install is "15.40.28.4501" but the version my laptop has is "20.19.15.4360". However it says my version was released in January 29th 2016, but the new version was released 15 days ago (November 19th 2016). If that is the case then why would my laptop not allow me to upgrade to the latest version if my one is outdated? When I went to Device Manager to see if my driver was the latest, it kept saying that it was at the latest version. Now I did some research and found out that my laptop has 3 graphics drivers integrated (one from AMD, another from Intel, and one from NVIDIA). If I'm correct in saying so, those 3 graphics drivers are all combined into my one graphics card which is (possibly) the reason why I can't update it with the generic Intel driver. I won't tamper with or try to change anything but this is a bit confusing for me. I would like some advice and guidance on this so next time I won't have this problem again. Thank you and have a nice day/evening!

Precisely my point. Let HP Support Assistant manage the drivers. On the Intel graphics you are not going to see any huge improvement or difference from driver updates, anyway.

No your laptop model only has Intel HD graphics. There are 3 optional drivers on your support page because HP lists all driver options for the whole model series, not just your specific model. The message you are showing above fully explains the issue. HP "customizes" the driver to work best with its BIOS and other hardware. That is why the Intel driver installer is smart enough not to override that. Stick with the drivers from the HP website and you will be fine.

If you had AMD or nVidia it would show here.

Ok so that means I shouldn't try to manually change or install a new graphics driver from the Intel website and just let it update it itself automatically? If that is the case then thanks for explaining this to me, I really appreciate it!
