I have just bought a new Spectre x360 to replace my old one which was still going strong after 5+ years. The new one has arrived with Windows 11 preinstalled.
When I connect my Epson EH-TW7400 projector to the new laptop, Windows pops up a "USB Device Not Recognised" warning every 39 seconds, with a little notification sound. It doesn't stop doing this until the projector is disconnected.
The laptop has no other issues- everything is displaying on the projector just fine. The projector has no problems when combined with my old x360.
I've tried troubleshooters, followed all the guides I could find online, updated all drivers etc etc and I have no idea what to do next. I've tried contacting HP Technical Support but can't get a human response. Could someone on here suggest a solution?

Further information- in device manager if I select View->Show Hidden Devices, a new entry is visible under "Universal Serial Bus controllers".
This hidden device is "Unknown USB Device (Port Reset Failed)". If uninstalled, this reappears automatically whilst the projector is attached. If I use the other USB port a second unknown device entry appears.
Windows event viewer has errors listed for the first attempt to connect, "Device USB\VID_0000&PID_0001\5&ba816a1&0&3 had a problem starting".
Still no response from HP Support.
