Hi @Anuj5603,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To address the issue with your HP Pavilion 14 Laptop PC's screen becoming unresponsive, we can try a few troubleshooting steps. If you have a video, you can share it with me for a more precise diagnosis. Here are some general steps you can follow to troubleshoot and possibly resolve the issue.
Update Drivers and BIOS:
- Ensure that all your drivers, especially the graphics driver, and the BIOS are up to date. You can check for updates through the HP Support Assistant or the HP website.
Check for Windows Updates:
- Make sure your Windows operating system is fully updated. Sometimes, updates can fix underlying software issues.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Shut down your laptop.
- Disconnect all external devices and remove the power adapter.
- Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the power adapter and turn on your laptop.
Check Task Manager:
- When the screen becomes unresponsive, press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open the Task Manager. Check if any application or process is using an excessive amount of resources (CPU, memory, disk).
Boot in Safe Mode:
- Boot your laptop in Safe Mode to see if the issue persists. If it doesn't, a third-party application might be causing the problem.
Run Hardware Diagnostics:
- Use the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics tool to run a system test and check for any hardware issues.
Adjust Power Settings:
- Sometimes power settings can affect the performance of the screen. Go to Control Panel > Power Options and set it to High Performance.
Check for Malware:
- Perform a full system scan using a reliable antivirus program to ensure there is no malware causing the issue.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
