Hi @Tomfi,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Spectre 15-Eb1 X360 Convertible Laptop PC screen doesn't wake up after sleep mode, here are some steps to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue.

Check Power Settings

  • Go to Settings > System > Power & sleep.
  • Ensure that the settings for "Sleep" and "Screen" are configured correctly. Try setting them to a longer duration or to "Never" for troubleshooting purposes.

Update Drivers

  • Display Driver:
    • Open Device Manager (right-click the Start button and select Device Manager).
    • Expand the Display adapters section.
    • Right-click your display driver and select Update driver.
    • Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
  • BIOS and Chipset Drivers:
    • Visit the HP Support website.
    • Enter your laptop model and download the latest BIOS and chipset drivers.
    • Follow the instructions to update.

Disable Fast Startup

  • Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options.
  • Click Choose what the power buttons do on the left side.
  • Click Change settings that are currently unavailable.
  • Under Shutdown settings, uncheck Turn on fast startup.
  • Click Save changes.

Reset Power Plan

  • Open Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options.
  • Select Change plan settings next to your selected power plan.
  • Click Restore default settings for this plan.

Check for Windows Updates

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
  • Click Check for updates and install any available updates.

Run Power Troubleshooter

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
  • Select Additional troubleshooters.
  • Find and run the Power troubleshooter.

Reinstall Display Driver

  • In Device Manager, right-click the display driver and select Uninstall device.
  • Restart your computer. Windows will automatically reinstall the driver.

Modify Sleep Settings in Advanced Power Options

  • Open Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options.
  • Click Change plan settings next to your selected power plan.
  • Click Change advanced power settings.
  • Expand Sleep, then expand Allow hybrid sleep and set it to Off.
  • Expand PCI Express and set Link State Power Management to Off.

Check for Hardware Issues

  • If the problem persists, it could be a hardware issue. Connect an external monitor to check if the laptop is outputting display to it.
  • If the external monitor works, the issue might be with the laptop's display panel or related hardware.

Perform a System Restore

  • If the issue started recently, perform a system restore to a point where the laptop was functioning correctly.
  • Go to Control Panel > System and Security > System > System protection.
  • Click System Restore and follow the prompts.

These steps should help you diagnose and resolve the issue of your HP Spectre's screen not waking up from sleep mode.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
